We are pleased to announce that Prof. Dr. Karoly Nemeth has been appointed as an Editorial Board Member in Earth and Planetary Science (ISSN: 2810-9732). Karoly Nemeth currently works as a Volcanology Expert for the Saudi Geological Survey based in Jeddah. He is also a Senior Researcher of the Institute of Earth Physics and Space Science, Sopron in Hungary. He was a full professor and currently an adjunct professor in geology of the School of Agriculture and Environment, Volcanic Risk Solutions of the Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand. He is the Chair of the Geoconservation Trust Aotearoa New Zealand. Nemeth’s areas of expertise include sedimentology, physical volcanology, magma-water interaction research, volcanic hazard studies and volcanic geoheritage research. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Shaunna M. Morrison has been appointed as an Editorial Board Member in Earth and Planetary Science (ISSN: 2810-9732). Dr. Shaunna M. Morrison Earth and Planets Laboratory, Carnegie Institute for Science, Washington, United States Homepage: https://carnegiescience.edu/dr-shaunna-morrison-0 Dr. Shaunna M. Morrison is the Co-Director of Carnegie's 4D (Deep Time Data Driven Discovery) Initiative, former Project Manager of the Carnegie-led Deep-Time Data Infrastructure (DTDI), a Co-Investigator of the CheMin X-ray diffraction instrument on the NASA Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission, a collaborator on the NASA Astrobiology ENIGMA Project, a Co-Investigator of the NASA Astromaterials Data System, and a data contributor and collaborator of the RRUFF Project, including the Mineral Evolution Database (MED), Mineral Properties Database (MPD), and the Evolutionary System of Mineralogy Database (ESMD). She builds on her technical and theoretical background in crystallography, crystal chemistry, and Martian mineralogy, to explore new techniques in multidimensional, multivariate analysis and visualization by employing a range of advanced analytics and machine learning techniques better to understand the complex relationships between Earth and planetary materials, their formational environments through deep time, and their coevolution with the biosphere. Dr. Maria Gritsevich Appointed Associate Editor in Earth and Planetary Science |

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Maria Gritsevich has been appointed Associate Editor in Earth and Planetary Science (ISSN: 2810-9732). Dr. Maria Gritsevich is a Senior Scientist at the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI). Prior to coming to FGI, she was appointed as an university researcher at the Department of Physics, University of Helsinki, as a Senior Scientist at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, at the Ural Federal University and at the Russian Academy of Sciences. She has also worked as a research fellow at the European Space Agency (ESA/ESTEC, with an international ESA fellowship granted to only one researcher a year). She obtained her M.Sc. degree (with high honors) at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (2007), where in the following two years she also completed her Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics. She gained crucial research experience by joining international collaborative projects, such as FP7 RASTAS SPEAR "RAdiation-Shapes Thermal protection investigAtionS for high-SPeed EArth Re-entry", and EuroPlaNet. In 2016 she obtained the title of docent (Adj. Prof.) in planetary sciences at the University of Helsinki. An asteroid (14345) Gritsevich is named after her. She was awarded the Gold Medal for young scientists from the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2010. |
